The PET are have now launched into an exciting new era with the Children's University

We are really excited about this one!

The CU (Children's University) offers so many opportunities for the children in Pontefract.

Children are given their own ‘Passport to Learning’ in which they are encouraged to collect hours of learning towards nationally recognised awards for 30, 65 and 100 hours of learning.

Our schools are keen to support the initiative through validating extra-curricular activities whilst guiding children through their choices and their aspirational climbs.

Wakefield Children’s University Cultural Trail

Saturday 8th April 2017 – Sunday 23rd April 2017

Bringing together 7 cultural Learning Destinations from around Wakefield, members and their families take part in completing a trail around Wakefield, Castleford and Pontefract. Explore new places and learn about the history of Wakefield in the process.


Wednesday 31st May 2017

Hosted by Wakefield College, May-Hem! takes place during half term and is open to both CU and non CU members. A wide variety of Learning Destinations and College led activities are brought under one roof to provide a fun family day out.

Graduation Ceremony

Monday 19th June 2017

All members who have achieved a Gold level (100, 200, 300, etc) will be invited to attend the annual Graduation Ceremony which takes places once per year at Theatre Royal Wakefield. They will be invited onto the stage in their cap and gown to receive a certificate from Wakefield College’s Principal and CU Chancellor Sam Wright.
